🏰 History

Established in the 17th century, Faneromeni Monastery has undergone several expansions and reconstructions, notably in 1634 and 1734 during Venetian rule. It suffered significant damage in 1886 due to a fire but was restored to its former glory. The monastery operated as a men’s monastery until 1948 and has been open to visitors since the 1980s.
