Over the last years, Sifnos is gradually developing in tourism, without losing its authentic character though. Geographically it is located in Western Cyclades and can be combined with other islands for holidays, such as Milos, Serifos and Kythnos. With traditional Cycladic style and cozy beaches, Sifnos is a great place for families with kids who need some relaxing days close to the sea. Vathy, Platis Gialos, Faros and Chrissopighi are nice beaches to swim, all located on the southern side. The beach bars and clubs that have opened in Sifnos over the last years also attract many young tourists on the island.

The island of Sifnos is one of the Greek islands of the Aegean Sea and it belongs to the Cyclades islands group. In the ancient times, Sifnos island was considered the island of Apollo. Today this is among the most picturesque Greek islands. The villages of Sifnos, in Greece, are like little jewels of small cubic houses, narrow stone alleys, white chapels, flowered yards and colourful windows. Kastro is the most picturesque village, the old capital of the island that took its name from the castle walls that used to surround it in the Medieval times. Other nice villages are Pollonia and Exambela, while on the southern side there are tourist places. The beaches of Sifnos island are nice and sandy, with crystal water and relaxing atmosphere. Many beaches are organized, ideal for families and couples. Sightseeing is few, except for the lovely Monastery of Chrissopighi, the protector of the island.

Most hotels in Sifnos are found at the beaches on the southern side of the island. Platis Gialos, Vathy and Faros offer accommodation within walking distance from the beach. These accommodation options range from luxurious suites to traditional apartments and studios. Nice places to stay are also found in Kamares, Kastro and Apollonia. Some accommodations in Sifnos have more luxurious facilities, like pools and spa.
