Skiathos

This is the most popular island of Sporades group. It is famous for its sandy beaches, the lush greenery and the vivid nightlife, which is why holidays in Skiathos are particularly popular among young visitors. The southern side of the island is dotted with fantastic beaches, like Koukounaries, Banana, Agia Paraskevi, Kanapitsa and more. The countryside is green and has few interesting monasteries to visit. From Skiathos island, there are day cruises to the other islands of Sporades and Pelion.

The island of Skiathos, in Greece, belongs to the Sporades islands group. The Greek island of Skiathos has only one village that becomes the centre of activities in summer. Day and night, the Town becomes very popular with visitors strolling around and dining at the waterfront restaurants. From Skiathos Town, there are buses and boats to the golden beaches on the southern side of the island. The most beautiful beach is Koukounaries, that is also considered as a protected environment. Do not also miss a boat trip to the Medieval Castle and Lalaria, the most exotic beach of the island. In the inland, visitors will find two lovely monasteries, the monastery of Evangelistria and of Kounoupitsa. In the centre of the Town, there is the interesting Museum of Papadiamantis, one of the most important Greek scholars.

Skiathos Town, the capital of the island, concentrates a wide variety of accommodation, from large tourist resorts and luxurious suites to traditional apartments and studios. Luxurious hotels in Skiathos island have upscale facilities, such as pools, jacuzzi and spa therapies. Koukounaries and Megali Ammos are very cosmopolitan beaches, with a good variety of hotels and studios.
